Terry Jones’ Burning of the Quran
Radicalism and fundamentalism can be found in every religion, whether it is Islam, Christianity or Hinduism. According to the Encyclopedia, the term fundamentalism was actually derived in the USA in the early decades of the 20th century by Christians. It had been used first by a Protestant group that advertised a series of twelve brochures between 1910 and 1912 under the name of The Fundamentals. Therefore saying that Fundamentalists can only be discovered in Islam would be as wrong as saying milk is white only from a cow. On the other hand Terry Jones stated that the aim of burning the sacred text was to pay tribute to the 9th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Moreover, he decided to burn copies of the holy Quran as a part of the event. As a result, a group of American from all walks of life, from politicians to actors to military commanders heavily criticized and denounced the idea and requested that he should cancel the insidious protest of a Quran burning. On the other side Terry Jones, claims that he and his admirers were merely trying to reveal and express their religious beliefs, even while American officials believed this act would inflame the violence against the American troops in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Also as a result two people have been reported killed in Kandahar while 30 others have been wounded. As far as these meaningless and cruel actions doesn’t get stopped by the respective governments, it will be as hard as taking three water-melons in one hand for both Afghans and westerners in order to reduce hatreds among the Muslims and other religions. At the same time, foreign media should take all the responsibility on their shoulder. They ought to broadcast the most hateful incident in a way that shouldn’t affect brotherhoods between different religions. At meanwhile, US government should sentence him a death penalty, in order to stop such action in the future.
