ABSTRACT
Work stress is becoming a major problem in various workplaces. The effect of work stress on the employee is evident in the worker’s job performance and level of productivity achieved. Establishing and understanding the link between work stress and productivity which is aimed in this proposed research work will provide an impetus to employers to maintain good working conditions in workplaces, assess workers physical and psychological health conditions to maximize productivity. 1.0 INTRODUCTION
There is increasing awareness that the well-being of workers can be influenced by workplace factors thereby adversely affecting their overall performance and productivity (Faragher et al., 2004). The link between work stress and employee well-being promotes the employer’s moral obligation to maintain a healthy and stress free working environment (Patterson et al., 1997). In addition to the moral obligation, employees should be aware of the productivity impact of work-related stress (Donald et al., 2005). As indicated by Kessler et al. (1999), it is estimated that monthly productivity losses of approximately $200 to $400 were experienced by each worker in terms of work-related stress. In 1990, loss in productivity of $12.1 billion due to work-related stress was estimated to cost America Corporations (Greenberg et al., 1993). Establishing and understanding the link between stress and productivity which is aimed in this research work will provide an impetus to employers to maintain good working conditions and add to management comprehension of the role of stress management in relation to productivity in an organization. This work intends to use the deductive approach to investigate the relationship between work stress and productivity and further using statistical tools to analyze and discuss the extent of such relationship.

1.1 Aim
To investigate the relationship between worker’s stress and their productivity level, determining the extent, strength and direction of such relationship.

1.2 Objectives
