NLP competencies help build more successful business development managers.
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a discredited approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California , USA in the 1970s. The title asserts a connection between the neurological processes ("neuro"), language ("linguistic"), and behavioural patterns learned through experience ("programming") that proponents speculate can be changed to achieve specific goals in life.
The founders, Bandler and Grinder, have said that NLP is capable of addressing problems such as phobias, depression, habit disorder, psychosomatic illnesses, and learning disorders. Their stated aim was in "finding ways to help people have better, fuller and richer lives." They claimed that if the effective patterns of behaviour of exceptional people could be modeled then these patterns could be acquired by others. NLP has been adopted by private therapists, including hypnotherapists, and in management workshops and seminars marketed to business and government.
NLP competency can be of a great help as a manager, it can help to build a better manager. As a manager if you are able to judge your employees it can help a lot. If your employee is suffering from depression or is having some kind of a phobia then with the help of NLP you can find the causes of the same and can work for the recovery of the employee from all this disorders. It is an important tool because if an employee faces any such problem then he will not be able to give his best to the organization which will surely affect his productivity and also affect the productivity of the organization as a whole.
If proper care is not taken on time then things can go out of control as the person may become violent which can cause many problems for the organization in future. So if a manager is having NLP competency then it can be of a great help for the organization as the company can take action before things get out of control and undesirable consequences are avoided.
Also if the manager is able to bring the person out of depression and make him normal again, then that employee will be more loyal to the manager and to the organization as well, so he will work hard and his productivity will be high. This will be very beneficial for the organization.
