What internal pressures were impacting on the organisation in your situation, and how did the organisation respond to those pressures? How do the theoretical approaches within the perspective you have chosen explain or deal with those pressures?

Selby Trust manages community facilities such as the Selby Centre which brings together a rich mix of individuals and organisations, primarily from BME, refugee and other historically excluded communities in Tottenham, Haringey, and North London. The trust recognises it needs to drive change after evaluation of its workforce efficiency and to compliant with council’s regulations.

When management of organisation trying to undergo business process developing plans to create a more efficient and cohesive core culture the employees of the organisations may have some reserves with the new plans. These feelings are quite natural for humans, since human-beings have a tendency to fear what they do not know or understand. For these reasons alone, management must be able to create thought provoking and innovative plans that will seek the attention of its employees and inform them of the reason and opportunities for change along with the promotion of a new culture

The trust had to ensure worked towards sustaining the services it provided and identified key areas included staff performance and developments, using assets efficiently, cooperating closely with local community and minimising the impact of change to its services in its environment. Management pay attention driving forward installing Wi-Fi in complex as change needs technologies.

It was also recognised that stability, community and workforce confidence are important in sustaining the change process these factors helped persuade the stakeholders that it could be compatible with environmental and social progression. A dilemma for the organisation identified by C Handy (Organization Theory, 2007 5th Edition) is how to use its assets effectively, quite often during the drive for change the trust will look at the department it wants to redefine and redeploy people to other areas if it was found that the department was oversubscribed.

The trust in managing internal pressures derives from their need to staff development to retain valued employees. It relies on the skills, enthusiasm and commitment of its employees to meet needs, fulfil aims and objectives and shows it behaves responsibly regarding its environment. Henri Fayol describes as ‘…..looking ahead…assess the future and make provision for it’.
