QUESTION 1: What unexploited economic opportunities exist in Haiti but what needs to be done if these opportunities are to be exploited?
Haiti is, on the western hemisphere, the country the most densely populated with 289 inhabitants/ km≤, and also a GDP per person of 510 $, that is 1,4$ per a day. However, this country has many resources unexploited, or badly exploited, and this in different areas of economics activities, like agriculture, tourism, textile industry and many others.
In the field of agriculture, Haiti has great soils, whose are perfect to grow several quality products. One of them is the coffee. Haitian coffee is well-known around the world and it has an historical dimension. In fact it was the income of coffee whose ensured Haiti to pay his independence debt to France. Nowadays the coffee production is three times less important than thirty years ago. In addition, only one third of production is exported, and among the exportations, just a view quantity is destined to gourmet market in rich country. In my mind, to fully benefit of the quality of his soils, Haiti has to rebuild his coffee production for exportation and giving priority to Fair Trade market and gourmet market.
Moreover Haiti has many assets attractive to tourists: a warm climate; magnificent white-sand beaches; turquoise water and a world heritage story. With the recent earthquake, all needs to be reconstructed. Haitian government should benefits of this dramatically natural disaster, to create some partnerships with different international hotel company. This will create temporary jobs in building trade whose will be replaced by long terms jobs in other businesses. However, Haiti is one of country where criminality rate is really important. To be an attractive tourism country, the government needs to developed prevention and many other actions whose could reduce criminality and transform Haiti in a safety country.
Today Haiti is on a crucial turning point of his history. On his rebuilding, the country hasnít to neglect his different opportunities that we have seen (and many others as to become a competitive country in textile industry) if Haiti want to change his future.

QUESTION 2†: The Haiti earthquake is one of the worst natural disasters and the media coverage has been very extensive. What has been your reaction to this event and do you think that we have done our best to help the Haitians?
The Haiti earthquake on 12th January 2010 has made more than 222†000 deaths. According to an investigation of the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) damage costs is estimated between 8 and 14 billion dollars. As regards of these facts this natural disaster is the most destructive of the modern times.
