From the invention of fire to the world of digital, man has forced his scientific advance. In this fast moving generation, cell phones are considered to be the greatest gift of science. Cell phones are modified form of computers which utilized mainly for communication, storing or retrieval of data, and even calculation of numerical values are possible. It became a multipurpose toy that everyone wants to have and enjoy with. It became part and parcel of everyone in day today life. Cell phones have rapidly spread through out the world, evolved through the years and changed everything. Although cell phones have its convenience and applications have changed people’s preferences of simpler methods of communication there is still no doubt that cell phones offer numerous disadvantages too. Some examples as the author says; are texting or talking on the phone while driving that can be dangerous to the driver and pedestrians. Another example for cell phone disadvantages or misuse deals on privacy; a once conversations were conducted in private places such as homes, and offices are brought out to public places that some may find it offending. In addition, cell phones now are too expensive for an ordinary consumer.

There are maybe more disadvantages or misuse of cell phones that the author failed to discuss; in addition to this might be in health aspects, some in addiction or crimes and some to our environment. Some examples of health disadvantages from cell phones are the risk of having brain tumors and its radiations can be harmful to male fertility. It can also cause disturbance in sleep. Some people (especially teens) get so much addicted to cell phones from talking with their friends, watching and making videos, messaging, playing games, etc that they forget the real purpose of the phone and waste large part of their time in unnecessary interaction over their cell phones. In addition, cell phones are increasingly becoming a problem for the schools during classroom hours and are becoming a means of cheating during examinations and other kinds of ability tests. It can also be use in crimes such as theft, bombings, death threats, and many more. Cell phones can be harmful or dangerous to the environment too, through means of its waste or as we all call it “e-waste”. Cell phones that have a camera and can shoot videos can be used by adults and teenagers to took and upload in appropriate pictures or videos that any child can see.

It would be ideal if everyone lived by the Golden Rule and considered the effects of their behavior on those around them. ...
