Description

Short essay about what people think of America and why it is an honor to be an American

Preview

Although some americans take for granted the oppertunities at hand, there have been several historical figures that know the true meaning of being apart of the United States. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, former president of the united states, said, "My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." He also said, "The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender, or submission." Let us therefore animate and encourage each other, and shew the whole world, that a Freeman contending for Liberty on his own ground is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth." I think that being an american also means that you can lean on one another for assistance and guidence during a time of need.
People from other countries may be wondering, "how is america so different compared to our country, why is it supposedly so great?" The main reason why the United States stands out from the rest is because of our government. We are one of the first republics of ...
